Jodette Rose, EdD, LMSW, CCTP
I am stuck. If that is you, I can say I have shared this feeling more than once in my lifetime. I am grateful over the course of my 20-year career and personal life, to learn that it is possible to become unstuck, and move forward. The phrase I have up in my office, and in my house... and even on the back of 2 Bird’s t-shirts is, “Forward is a Pace.”
My clients have experienced difficult life transitions, trauma, chronic pain & disease, depression and anxiety. I am honored to work with them, as they take active steps towards being at peace with who they are, what they have survived, and moving forward with confidence. They learn that progress is not linear, but rather taking it day by day knowing that Forward is a Pace no matter how big or small the next step. I am honored to work with them, as well as with you!
Current Practice:
My style in therapy focuses primarily on evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Over the course of my career, I found that the more relaxed a client is, the easier it is to discuss trauma. Therefore, I am a certified meditation teacher and trained in mindfulness-based modalities. I bring these skills to our session to support your therapy (FAQ - no, you do not have to meditate in session. However, I might teach you a thing or two about relaxing the body.).

Jodette graduated with her Master of Social Work degree in 2005 and since then has worked in services for sexual assault, domestic violence, case management services, clinical counseling and mental health research for U.S. Veterans. Jodette has been enjoying private practice for the past 3 years.

Personal Philosophy:
I am inspired and committed to learning and honoring a person's culture and belief system. I work to ensure my clients know they are in a welcoming space, without judgement. Your choices are priority in every session. This means you have a voice in your care, with my support.
When not at the office, I enjoy time with my family and for us, that also includes the 2 dogs and cat! I am proud wife of a U.S. Army Veteran and mom to an amazing kid in high school. The working mom schedule keeps me busy, however I have found it important to take that time with a couple of great friends (in person, not FB likes). I always come away feeling like somehow life will be ok.
